BNP Paribas Exceeds New MREL Requirements Set by ACPR for 2026, According to a Statement
BNP Paribas has received notification from the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) of the updated Minimum Requirement for Own Funds and Eligible Liabilities (MREL) applicable from 2026. The Group states that it has significantly higher MREL levels than the new requirements set.
The updated total MREL requirement is set at 22.32%, in addition to the Combined Buffer Requirement (CBR) of 4.87% of the Group's risk-weighted assets and 5.91% of the Group's leverage exposures.
Regarding the subordination constraint, the applicable requirement for BNP Paribas Group is respectively 13.50% plus the CBR of the risk-weighted assets and 5.63% of the leverage exposures of the Group.

As of March 31, 2026, BNP Paribas Group displays a total MREL ratio of 29.7% based on risk-weighted assets and a subordinate MREL ratio of 26.6% on the same basis. Based on the Group's leverage exposures, these ratios were respectively 8.7% and 7.8% as of March 31, 2026.
These levels remain above the updated requirements notified by the ACPR.
