CAC 40 Top Performers: EssilorLuxottica Share Rebounds Despite Lowered Target by BofA
EssilorLuxottica rebounds sharply mid-morning and ranks among the strongest gainers in an equally well-oriented CAC 40. The stock had been under pressure in recent sessions following a fresh target reduction by a brokerage firm. It remains significantly below its levels from a year ago.
A rebound that brings the stock back above its twenty-day moving average
The EssilorLuxottica share gains 3.32% to €147.75, while the CAC 40 advances 0.81%. This gain places it among the strongest gainers in the Paris index. The stock thus moves back above its twenty-day moving average (€144.76, or 2.07% below the current price), while the 50-day moving average remains at €154.87, 4.60% above the current price.
The support level at €139.00, close to the lowest since 2022 reached in late September, remains at a distance. Over a quarter, the decline still reaches 12.75%, and nearly 47% over one year.
BofA lowers its target to €205, while maintaining a buy rating
The rebound comes following a revision by BofA Securities, which reduced its price target from €237 to €205 while maintaining its buy rating. This target implies an upside potential of 38.8% compared to the current price. On the fundamentals front, the group published on July 28 first-half 2026 results with adjusted operating income up 15% at constant exchange rates and free cash flow of €1.07 billion. Among the risks cited on this occasion was the currency effect, which brings the reported margin to 18.6%, against 18.9% at constant rates.
