Carrefour stock falls to 150-session low and continues to decline
The retailer extends its pullback following a downward revision of its annual targets. Two brokers have just lowered their price targets, in a CAC 40 that is also declining.
A 150-session low broken through, 12.7% below the 20-day moving average
Carrefour is down 1.57% to €13.83, lagging a CAC 40 that is falling 1.42%. The stock has broken below the €14.05 threshold, which marked its 150-day low and now acts as resistance. It is trading 12.7% below its 20-day moving average at €15.85, and 12.4% below its 200-day moving average at €15.79, which reflects the scale of the recent decline: the loss has reached 14.4% over one week. The RSI has fallen to 25, an oversold configuration. The next identified support level is at €12.53.
The retailer had lowered its 2026 targets on October 20, citing the deterioration of the social and security situation in France. The revision affects operating margin, adjusted earnings per share, and free cash flow. The stock had already lost more than 14% during Wednesday's session. Capital.fr reported that CEO Alexandre Bompard valued Saturday's looting at "hundreds of millions of euros".
JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs lower their price targets on Carrefour
On Thursday, two analyst opinions point in the same direction. JP Morgan is lowering its target from €9 to €8, a level more than 40% below the current price. Goldman Sachs is revising its target from €18 to €16, with a neutral rating, which leaves an upside of approximately 16% compared to €13.83.
In terms of valuation, the consensus of analysts tracked places the stock at approximately 8 times current fiscal year earnings, and 7.4 times next fiscal year's earnings. The next support level to monitor remains €12.53, which the stock has not yet approached.
