Claranova returns to profit with €4.3 million in earnings despite a 20.6% decline in revenue
Claranova published on October 21, 2026 the accounts for its 2025-2026 fiscal year (July 2025 to June 2026). This is the first complete fiscal year since the completion of its refocus on SaaS software publishing. The group generated a positive net result of €4.3 million, and the share of its recurring revenue rose to 83% of revenue, compared to 75% a year earlier.
The publication reveals two movements in opposite directions. On one hand, revenue declined, with the contraction concentrated on the advertising component of Utilities and Photo. On the other hand, Document/PDF activity and the Software component of Utilities progressed, while operational debt was reduced by more than 50%.
Revenue of €93.7 million, down 11.8% on a constant perimeter basis
Revenue for the fiscal year stood at €93.7 million, down 11.8% on a constant perimeter and exchange rate basis and down 20.6% in published data. At the publication on November 18, 2025, the group had reported revenue of €118 million for the previous fiscal year.
According to Claranova, the gap between the two measures is explained by an unfavorable exchange rate effect of approximately 4.2 percentage points and a perimeter effect of approximately 4.6 percentage points. The latter is related to the sale of non-strategic American operations (Avanquest North America), which took place on October 31, 2025.
The organic decline relates to the advertising component of Utilities and Photo. The group states that it deliberately contained customer acquisition spending in order to preserve profitability, which directly links part of the revenue decline to a management choice.
Document/PDF and Utilities software on the rise, recurring revenue at 83%
Document/PDF activity grew by 4.4% on a constant perimeter and exchange rate basis; the company presents it as the organic driver of the fiscal year. Document B2B now represents 5.9% of revenue. Across the entire group, B2B sales increased by 11% and their share rose from 4.5% in 2024-2025 to 5.9%.
The Software component of Utilities grew by 4.7%. This increase was achieved despite a 4.1% decline in the software client base, more than offset by price increases. The figure illustrates a precise mechanism: fewer clients, but higher revenue per client.
The share of recurring revenue reaches 83% of revenue, compared to 75% a year earlier. A higher proportion thus comes from revenue renewed from one period to the next, rather than one-off receipts such as advertising. The group also continued to integrate artificial intelligence into its products, with the launch of "Avanquest PDF API for Claude", announced on July 15, 2026.
Operating margin at 21.7% and supplier debt cut in half
Despite the decline in revenue, the operating margin stood at 21.7%, compared to 20.4% in the previous fiscal year, an increase from one year to the next. Net result came in positive at €4.3 million.
On the balance sheet side, net debt excluding borrowing costs was maintained at €44.6 million. Operational debt was reduced by more than 50%. The group's supplier debt indeed fell from €20.1 million on June 30, 2025 to €9.9 million on June 30, 2026.
The most structural element of the publication remains the composition of revenue: out of a total of €93.7 million, recurring revenue now represents 83%, and Document/PDF activity as well as the Software component of Utilities progressed by 4.4% and 4.7% respectively.
