Colruyt launches 30 recipes around promotional products for back-to-school, savings up to 25%
Belgian retailer Colruyt has presented an operation intended for families during September, a period it describes as particularly costly due to back-to-school expenses.
The initiative is based on a series of recipes built around discounted ingredients.
An operation targeting family budgets at back-to-school
Colruyt has launched a series of 30 recipes, one for each day of September, developed using main ingredients on promotion during this period. According to the retailer, this scheme allows families to save up to an additional 25% while preparing meals described as balanced.
The company situates this approach in the context of back-to-school expenses related to books and school supplies, clothing, sports clubs and youth movement fees, as well as transport costs. It cites a study by Gezinsbond conducted in September 2025, according to which nearly one in seven Flemish families had to make choices, seek help or postpone certain payments. Colruyt adds that many families will no longer benefit from the school grant this year.
Recipes that can be prepared in 30 minutes, available online and on the application
The 30 recipes cover different types of dishes, meat or fish-based, vegetarian, classic or with more exotic flavors. Each is built around a main ingredient on promotion, with a display of the percentage savings achieved per recipe, and can be prepared in a maximum of 30 minutes.
The recipes are available from August 26 on Colruyt's website and in the Xtra application. Tamta Mamistvalovi, marketing manager at Colruyt, indicates that the retailer combines promotional products and balanced meals, specifying that it wants to give families an extra boost during this month.
