CVC: Todd Sisitsky and Peter Rutland appointed co-CEOs by early 2028
The private assets manager listed on Euronext Amsterdam has detailed the next stage of its management succession, with dual executive leadership effective by the first quarter of 2028. Rob Lucas, in charge since June 2021, will step down from his chief executive officer position at that time.
Dual general management on the horizon for the first quarter of 2028
CVC Capital Partners announced on September 9, 2026 that Todd Sisitsky and Peter Rutland will become Co-CEOs by the first quarter of 2028, at which time Rob Lucas will leave his position as chief executive officer. Todd Sisitsky will join CVC from TPG, where he has served as President since 2021 after more than 23 years with the firm. He has also served on the board of directors and executive committee. In his role as Co-CEO, he will also chair the CVC Partner Board. Peter Rutland, currently President of CVC, has been with the group for 19 years. As Managing Partner, he is responsible for Credit & Insurance, Secondaries and Infrastructure strategies, and has long led the global sector team dedicated to financial services.
Rob Lucas retains a role within investment committees
Rob Lucas has led the group since June 2021, during which time CVC completed its initial public offering on Euronext Amsterdam in April 2024. Following the transition, he will remain involved at the group level and in investment activities, continuing to sit on the Europe/Americas, Strategic Opportunities and Catalyst investment committees. He will also serve as Key Man for the Europe/Americas Fund X. Soren Vestergaard-Poulsen will remain CIO Private Equity and will chair the Europe/Americas, Strategic Opportunities and Catalyst investment committees.
