Edenred Joins Quintessence AI Consortium to Train Its 12,000 Employees
Edenred has joined an initiative led by the Quintessence AI center aimed at developing and deploying the first European certified training dedicated to the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence. This membership is part of the group's technological strategy, which places AI at the heart of its Amplify 25-28 plan.
A Consortium of Ten Industrial Leaders to Train One Million Employees
Edenred is committing alongside nine other major players (Safran, STMicroelectronics, Stellantis, L'Oréal, Sanofi, Thales, Engie, Urssaf, and France Travail) within a consortium led by Quintessence AI. The goal is to develop and deploy a certified training program designed to train one million employees across Europe by the end of 2028.
The program is called RITUAL: it is a certified online training course designed by scientists and accessible to any employee, regardless of their industry, role, or level of technical proficiency. RITUAL includes ten training modules at launch, with new content gradually added to keep skills aligned with scientific advancements, evolving practices, and regulatory changes.
AI at the Heart of the Strategic Plan Amplify 25-28
By joining this consortium, Edenred commits to deploying the certification among its 12,000 employees. Artificial intelligence is indeed central to the group's strategy for the 2025-2028 period. The group allocated approximately 520 million euros in 2025 for investments in its products and technology, and plans to invest nearly 1.8 billion euros from 2026 to 2028.
Edenred already integrates AI across all its business lines to serve its end-users and partners: virtual HR agents in Latin America, automation of appointment scheduling in Brazil, targeted Retail Media campaigns for its merchant partners, and content production tools. Internally, AI is also deployed among teams and business processes to enhance employee productivity.
Responsibility and Regulatory Compliance
By joining the RITUAL consortium, Edenred asserts that technological innovation must be accompanied by a culture of responsibility. The group thus aims to ensure that the adoption of AI within the organization respects the highest ethical and regulatory standards, in response to the ethical, legal, social, environmental, and economic challenges posed by the deployment of this technology on a large scale.
