Eiffage share price falls below €102.75 and extends its decline
The stock of the construction and highway concession group continues its downward trend this Wednesday, in a CAC 40 index itself oriented lower. The breach of support occurs as the construction sector remains difficult and the brief published yesterday had already signaled a marked technical deterioration.
A breach of the €102.75 support that extends a quarterly decline of nearly 22%
Eiffage loses 1.9% to €100.80 during the session, after breaking through its €102.75 support during the day. The stock is among the biggest losers in the CAC 40, in an index that declines by 0.58% at the same time. Over one month, the decline reaches 8.11%; over three months, it exceeds 21.6%, illustrating the extent of the slide since summer.
The RSI is at 30, in a zone that signals selling exhaustion without implying an immediate reversal, and the MACD Histogram turns slightly positive at 0.11, reflecting a downward pressure that is stabilizing in pace without disappearing. The stock remains well below its three moving averages: the 20-day MA is at €107.06, the 50-day MA at €114.91 and the 200-day MA at €126.36, representing respective gaps of nearly 6%, 12% and 20% above the current price. The nearest resistance is at €119.20, far from today's trading level.
Fundamentals under pressure and construction sector contracting in France
When publishing first-half 2026 results (August 27, 2026), Eiffage had anticipated activity growth of a smaller magnitude than in 2025. Among the risks cited were notably a 2.5% decline in highway traffic for APRR and AREA, penalized by high fuel prices, as well as international revenue ex-Europe declining by 37.1%. The Works order book advanced by 7% year-over-year, and development in Europe outside France showed +8%, two supporting points cited among the group's resilience factors.
From a sectoral perspective, the construction climate in France remains weighed down: production declines by 5.2% year-over-year according to Eurostat, order books show a balance of -33 and housing permits have fallen by 9.5% over twelve months. By comparison, Bouygues loses 1.81% and Vinci drops 1.57% during the session, signaling generalized pressure on the sector. According to the consensus of surveyed analysts, the stock trades at approximately 8.9 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year, providing an indication of the valuation level at which the market currently incorporates the group's outlook.
