EPC Groupe Creates Defense Division, Revenue Reported Separately from Third Quarter 2026
In a press release published on October 22, 2026, the civil explosives specialist announced that this new activity, named EPC Energetics & Defence, will report directly to its general management. Its revenue will be published separately from the third quarter of 2026 onwards, in order to allow investors to better track the development of this segment.
Sovereignty and Dual-Use at the Origin of the Decision
EPC Groupe justifies the creation of this division by the strategic importance of the defense sector, the specific nature of this market and its strong momentum. The group indicates that it has participated, in recent years, in initiatives aimed at increasing sovereign production capacities of dual-use energy products (civil and military), such as TNT and PETN (pentaerythritol tetranitrate).
The acquisition of Pirobras in 2025 also allowed it to acquire expertise in specialty energy products. The group was also called upon to design and implement logistics solutions intended for defense actors.
"The growing attention paid to sovereignty, in an increasingly uncertain international environment, leads our Group to broaden its strategic scope. Our objective is to meet growing needs in energy chemistry and logistics solutions serving defense actors," declared Olivier Obst, Chief Executive Officer of EPC Groupe.
A Division Supported by 26 Production Sites and 66 Warehouses
The new entity is created within the Europe, Mediterranean and Americas region. It relies on a network of 26 production sites and 66 storage sites with pyrotechnic approvals, as well as on the group's expertise in the manufacturing, storage and transport of explosive materials.
According to the group, the specialized logistics activity experienced strong growth in 2026. EPC Groupe was also awarded several paid front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies concerning the construction of dual-use explosives production units.
The group achieved revenue of more than 592 million euros in 2025 and employs more than 3,000 employees, distributed across 44 subsidiaries operating in more than 29 countries.
