EPC Group Wins a 5-Year Drilling Contract at an Australian Gold Mine
Blastcon Australia, a subsidiary of EPC Group, has signed an agreement with Ravenswood Gold that includes the takeover of a significant portion of the assets and personnel of Roc-Drill, a company specialised in drilling and blasting. Both components will take effect simultaneously on 4 November 2026, the conditions for entry into force having been lifted.
16 drill rigs and more than 100 employees assigned to the Ravenswood mine
The contract concerns the Ravenswood gold mine, described by the group as one of the largest in Queensland. The takeover covers 16 drill rigs as well as the associated transport and operating equipment, all of these assets being exclusively assigned to this site.
More than 100 engineers, technicians and operators are joining the workforce of Blastcon Australia to ensure the continuity of operations at the mine and the administration of the contract. The operation thus combines a service contract with the integration of material and human resources dedicated to the site.
A binding letter of intent covering all drilling work
The commercial component is based on a binding letter of intent (LOI), the outcome of discussions held with Ravenswood Gold to organise the continuity of drilling services. It covers the performance, over a period of 5 years, of all drilling work at the mine.
According to EPC Group, this contract represents a projected average annual revenue of more than €20 million. For reference, the group generated revenue of more than €592 million in 2025.
After Blackjack Gold Mine, a new milestone for EPC in Australia
Since its integration into the group, Blastcon Australia has helped promote EPC Group's offering on the Australian market through expertise and training services. A first contract covering a complete drilling and blasting service had been signed with Blackjack Gold Mine in January 2026.
According to the group, the Ravenswood contract enhances its capacity to respond to large-scale tenders. Pascal Lacourie, Director for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific at EPC Group, believes that this signing "secures our deployment and accelerates our positioning in a high value-added sector".
