Equasens: fire destroys ASCA site and inventory, installation interruption estimated at four weeks
The fire that occurred on the evening of September 21, 2026 destroyed the building and inventory of the ASCA subsidiary in Chessy (Seine-et-Marne), which specializes in electronic labeling for pharmacies.
The group activated the business continuity plan for this subsidiary as soon as the incident occurred.
800 m² site and its inventory destroyed, no injuries
Equasens announced on September 22, 2026 that the headquarters and storage site of its ASCA subsidiary in Chessy (77) were affected by a fire whose source has now been extinguished. ASCA handles the installation of electronic labels in pharmacies and has more than 4,200 clients.
The site, approximately 800 m², comprises offices accommodating 25 employees as well as the inventory and equipment necessary for installations. The fire occurred on the evening of September 21, 2026. No one was present on-site and there are no injuries to report.
Fire extinguishing operations for the main source lasted throughout the night and mobilized more than 80 firefighters. The building as well as the inventory stored there were destroyed. The precise circumstances of the fire's origin remain to be established and are subject to standard investigations and expert assessments.
Business continuity plan activated, interruption estimated at four weeks
Equasens activated the business continuity plan for its subsidiary as soon as the incident occurred. ASCA's information systems (CRM, ERP and business applications) are not affected, as these are backed up and hosted at the group's headquarters in Nancy.
A safety stock, already available at another storage platform of the group, will ensure the continuity of operations over the coming days. Given upcoming deliveries, the period of total installation interruption should be limited to four weeks.
The group's logistics capacities and circuits are being reorganized accordingly and label manufacturers and other equipment suppliers are being mobilized to launch new production urgently. The 25 employees at the site are being supported and appropriate measures are being implemented (telework, partial activity) as needed.
