Eurobio Scientific Completes Acquisition of CareDx's Lab Products for €145M
Eurobio Scientific has finalized the acquisition of CareDx's Lab Products division for 145 million euros, approximately 170 million dollars. This transaction creates a global leader in transplantation diagnostics and genotyping kits by combining the next-generation sequencing expertise of its subsidiary GenDx with CareDx's proprietary portfolio.
A Strategic Acquisition of €145M to Strengthen IVD Diagnostics Position
Eurobio Scientific (listed on Euronext Growth, ALERS) completed the acquisition of the Lab Products division from the American group CareDx on Wednesday, involving entities in Sweden, the United States, and Australia. The purchase price was set at 145 million euros after usual contractual adjustments. This acquisition aligns with Eurobio's strategy to become a leader in molecular in-vitro diagnostics (IVD). The group now combines CareDx's HLA genotyping kits portfolio (human leukocyte antigens) with the sequencing techniques and software expertise of GenDx, its subsidiary based in the Netherlands and California. The integration creates a comprehensive platform covering the entire diagnostic process in transplantation: from pre-transplant HLA genotyping to post-transplant monitoring. Eurobio can now offer research laboratories and clinics an expanded range of molecular assays, reagents, and software platforms.
Enhanced Presence in Major Markets and Technological Synergies
The transaction strengthens Eurobio's presence in key transplantation markets: the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The acquisition also offers opportunities for operational efficiencies, particularly in streamlining manufacturing and supply chains. Technologically, the integration accelerates innovation in high-resolution HLA genotyping, hybridization techniques, and transplantation monitoring workflows. The group benefits from enhanced distribution capabilities and expanded customer access in major markets.
Confirmed Financial Publication Schedule
Eurobio Scientific will publish its first-half 2026 revenues on July 28, followed by its complete results on October 1, 2026. Denis Fortier, CEO of Eurobio Scientific, praised the accelerated completion of the transaction and the merger of the teams. John Hanna, CEO of CareDx, noted that the Lab Products portfolio was well positioned within Eurobio's global IVD platform.
