Eurofins Scientific stock breaks through its €74 resistance and gains 5.5% over one month
Eurofins Scientific closes the session in positive territory, supported by a rising CAC 40. The stock broke through its €74.08 resistance level during the session, a threshold it had not sustainably exceeded for several weeks, and closes above this level in a generally constructive European market despite uncertainties surrounding American monetary policy.
A resistance breakout at €74.08 that reinforces the monthly bullish momentum
Eurofins Scientific gains 1.25% to €74.40 at closing, after breaking upward through its €74.08 resistance level during the session and holding above it (last intraday price observed at €74.70). This breakout confirms the momentum initiated since the beginning of the month: the stock shows a gain of 4.49% over seven days and 5.62% over one month. The advance occurs in a context where the CAC 40 closes up 0.62% for the day, providing a favorable environment for core portfolio holdings. From a moving average perspective, the configuration remains solidly positive.
The price is maintained above the 20-day moving average at €72.11 (spread of 3.18%) and the 50-day moving average at €70.28 (spread of 5.86%), two levels that now represent a first line of support in case of consolidation. The RSI at 61 reflects ongoing buying momentum without entering overbought territory. The next threshold to monitor is the psychological €75 level, a prospective benchmark above the current price, with no identified technical precedent as a past resistance.
An optimistic first half of 2026 on margins, but organic growth remains below expectations
Beyond the price movement, the fundamentals published during the release of H1 2026 results (July 23, 2026) add substance to the stock's trajectory. Management had expressed confidence in profitability, indicating that profitability was approaching the 2027 target more than a year ahead of schedule, and that lower investment levels were contributing to significantly higher cash generation. The rebound in the stock from its lows during the week of September 7 (+4.49% over seven days) occurred while these more favorable cash flow prospects remained in market sentiment. Conversely, organic revenue growth had not yet returned to a pace deemed normal in the first half, with the BioPharma segment still sluggish, particularly in ancillary activities in North America.
A negative currency effect of 2.9% had moreover partially offset the organic growth achieved. For the second half, the group anticipated during this publication a rebound in BioPharma ancillary activities, as well as the completion of the Element Materials Technology acquisition in North America, expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, which should add more than $150 million in annual Life Sciences testing services revenues. The immediate support at €68.82 remains the key benchmark in case of consolidation.
