Eurofins share price declines, downgraded by Bernstein after +12% in three months
Eurofins Scientific is losing ground this Tuesday in a CAC 40 that is nonetheless slightly positive, ranking among the most neglected values in the index. The simultaneous downgrade of the rating and price target by Bernstein is weighing on the stock's momentum, which had nonetheless accumulated more than 12% over three months.
Bernstein downgrades its rating and lowers its price target below current price
Bernstein revised its stance on Tuesday on Eurofins Scientific by simultaneously downgrading its rating from buy to neutral and lowering its price target from €77.20 to €73.90. This new target falls below the current price of €77.24, reflecting a consensus analyst view that is now less constructive on the stock. Today's move contrasts with the previous session, when the stock was among the leaders in the CAC 40, driven by quarterly momentum of over 13%. Bernstein's downgrade comes as the group's organic growth remains below a normalized level, according to information disclosed when H1 2026 results were published on July 23, 2026 — although management noted at that time profitability close to its 2027 target with over a year to spare.
A limited decline against firmly established moving averages below the price
The stock fell 1.88% to €77.24 during the session, approaching resistance at €78.96, a level it has not yet broken through sustainably since the uptrend began in mid-September. Despite today's decline, the price remains well above its three moving averages: it exceeds the 20-day MA at €74.27 by 4%, and the 50-day MA at €71.75 by nearly 7.65%. The underlying momentum thus remains intact in the short term, although the RSI at 66 indicates that the stock is in a tight zone, without being in extreme overbought territory.
Support at €69.66 appears far below, leaving comfortable room before any significant technical level test. Furthermore, over twelve months, the group has repurchased €535 million of its own shares, representing nearly 3.9% of its market capitalization, structural support for the price that the latest disclosure, dated September 28, 2026, confirms remains active.
