Eurosatory 2026: CSG Unveils Trident, a Multilayer Air Defense System
At Eurosatory 2026, the Parisian defense expo, the industrial and technological group CSG presented its new multilayer air defense system, Trident. This modular system aims to protect military formations and strategic installations against a wide range of aerial threats, from aircraft to drones and guided missiles.
A Modular Architecture Designed for Operational Adaptability
Trident is structured as a short-, medium-, and long-range system whose configuration varies according to the operational needs of the client. Beyond guided surface-to-air missiles, it incorporates cannon-based weapon systems, anti-drone devices, and elements of electronic warfare or jamming.
In its standard configuration, the system uses various types of surface-to-air missiles covering ranges up to 100 km equipped with infrared and radiofrequency seekers. A Trident battery includes several specialized vehicles: a fire control center, missile launch and reloading vehicles, mobile AESA 3D radars with ranges of 200 km and 470 km depending on the model, and a maintenance support vehicle. In an extended configuration, the system can be enhanced with anti-drone elements including dedicated radars, precision weapons with area effect munitions, and specialized interceptors.
CSG and Its Partners for the Integration of Trident
The production and integration of Trident involve several companies within the CSG group as well as an established foreign partner. Excalibur International, a key entity of the group in air defense, manages the architecture and main integration of the system. Retia manufactures the radars and provides the command and control system, including the modular ReCUBE platform serving as a mobile command center. Tatra Trucks provides the Tatra Force chassis that support the system components, while Tatra Defence develops and produces armored cabins, superstructures, and launch systems.
Roketsan, a Turkish company and strategic partner of the group, supplies short, medium, and long-range surface-to-air missiles as well as launch structures. This cooperation combines Czech expertise in vehicle platforms, radar technologies, and systemic integration with the ballistic capabilities of the Turkish partner, a model that has already proven successful in previous projects of Excalibur International.
Major Contracts in Southeast Asia Confirming the Group's Trajectory
Over the past few years, Excalibur International has secured major contracts in Southeast Asia. In April 2026, the group concluded contracts in this region worth nearly 2.5 billion USD for the supply of several batteries of multilayer air defense systems on Tatra chassis, including the systems themselves, extended logistical support, personnel training, spare parts supplies, support infrastructure, and export financing arrangements.
