Exail Technologies Secures Contract Worth Several Tens of Millions of Euros
Exail Technologies announced on October 21, 2026 that it has been selected by a "leading" naval force to supply inertial navigation systems for its fleet of autonomous surface drones (USV).
The client is not named. The contract concerns the Marins range, a technology designed for environments where GPS signals can be jammed or spoofed.
Marins Range Selected to Equip Military Surface Drones
The contract covers inertial navigation systems from the Marins range, which the group presents as the most high-performing in its offering in this field. These systems are intended for the client naval force's surface drone fleet.
Exail Technologies views this contract within the context of naval fleet evolution, which increasingly combines manned vessels and autonomous platforms. According to the company, large-scale deployment of these platforms increases the performance and reliability requirements for navigation systems.
The press release also addresses the geopolitical context, marked notably by the proliferation of GPS signal jamming or spoofing situations. An inertial navigation system enables calculating an asset's position without relying on an external satellite signal.
One of the Group's Largest Navigation System Orders
The contract value amounts to "several tens of millions of euros," according to the company's statement, without more precise figures provided.
Exail Technologies indicates this is one of the largest navigation system orders ever recorded by the group.
Established Presence in Subsea Vehicle Navigation
According to the company, its technologies equip approximately 80% of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) and remotely operated vehicles (ROV) worldwide. With this contract, the group is expanding into surface drones a navigation activity already established underwater.
Exail Technologies relies on dual expertise in navigation systems and autonomous maritime robotics. The company believes that markets for autonomous surface and subsea vehicles are developing, driven by defense and civil applications.
The company, listed on Euronext Paris (compartment B) and a member of the SBF 120, generates the majority of its revenues in defense, as well as from civil customers, in nearly 80 countries.
