Groupe SEB: Operating Profitability Up 24.5% Over Nine Months, Annual Target Quantified

Over the first nine months of 2026, Groupe SEB generated operating activity results (ROPA, its main performance indicator) of €333 million, up 24.5%. Over the same period, its revenue reached €5,707 million, up 1.1% on a constant exchange rate and scope basis. Operating margin thus increased from 4.7% to 5.8% of sales.

The Écully-based group confirmed on October 22, 2026 its objective for ROPA growth over the year and quantified it for the first time: between 5% and 10%. This is the first quarterly publication since Loïc Moutault's arrival as Chief Executive Officer on October 1, 2026. He presented the Rebond cost-saving plan as the group's "roadmap", with the ambition to "return to a trajectory of profitable growth".

Groupe SEB: Operating Profitability Up 24.5% Over Nine Months, Annual Target Quantified

Stable Sales in the Third Quarter, Driven by the Americas

In the third quarter, group sales stood at €1,964 million, down 0.1% on a constant exchange rate and scope basis and up 2.5% on a reported basis. The difference stems from currency effects: their impact became positive in the quarter (+€51 million), after -€73 million in the first quarter and +€6 million in the second. Over nine months, the exchange rate impact remains negative at €16 million.

Consumer business activities, which accounted for €5,017 million in sales over nine months (+1.9% on an organic basis), grew 1.1% in the third quarter. This increase was driven by the Americas (+10.8%), where North America (+10.6%) benefited from a still favorable comparison base according to the group. EMEA declined 1.0%, as distributors continued to reduce their inventory levels in Western Europe, while Asia was virtually flat (-0.4%).

The Professional segment (professional coffee machines) saw sales decline 4.8% over nine months to €691 million, and 9.1% in the third quarter alone at €215 million. The group attributes this decline mainly to weak sales of machines to major clients, particularly in the United States, as well as slowdown in the Middle East. Services, which account for approximately 35% of this business's sales, are showing growth.

In the third quarter, ROPA reached €161 million, up 8.7%, and operating margin stood at 8.2%, compared with 7.7% a year earlier. This improvement occurred, according to the press release, in a context of stable sales and increased inflation.

The group attributes this to three factors: improved gross margin supported by higher volumes and a positive currency effect, maintained discipline on operating costs with benefits from the Rebond plan, and an impact described as minor from customs duty refunds in the United States. The Rebond plan contributed €15 million in the quarter and €35 million over nine months.

The plan's rollout is following the announced timeline. Following the signing of social agreements in France and Germany, voluntary departures have been underway since September, and workforce reduction targets are to be achieved by March 2027. On indirect procurement, more than two-thirds of total savings were secured by end-September, and half of the targeted 25% to 30% reduction in product references is already underway.

ROPA Growth Target Now Set Between 5% and 10% for 2026

The group specified that it is targeting ROPA growth of between 5% and 10% over the full year 2026, whereas its objective had previously been focused on simple "ROPA growth over the year". This range takes into account a high comparison base for ROPA in the fourth quarter of 2025, as well as uncertainties surrounding end-of-year consumer spending.

Groupe SEB also confirmed a return to more normative free cash flow generation, in line with the first half, and a reduction in financial leverage (net debt relative to adjusted EBITDA) as early as 2026, with a target around 2x (excluding acquisitions) by 2027. According to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock is trading at approximately 9.4 times expected earnings for the current fiscal year.

For the Rebond plan, the group estimates cost savings between €50 and €60 million in 2026, of which €35 million were already achieved by end-September, and confirms its target of approximately €200 million in recurring annual savings at steady-state by end-2027. 2026 annual sales and results will be published on February 24, 2027.
