Hyloris entrusts AFT Pharmaceuticals with the sale of its HY-088 treatment in five countries
The Liège-based laboratory Hyloris entrusted AFT Pharmaceuticals, on 6 November 2026, with the exclusive commercial rights to its Phosphate Oral Liquid formulation (HY-088) in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The mechanism chosen concerns commercial sales. However, the product, still under development, remains subject to regulatory approval and is not available for sale to date.
An exclusive distribution agreement in markets where AFT is established
Hyloris Pharmaceuticals, listed on Euronext Brussels, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with AFT Pharmaceuticals, a company listed on the New Zealand stock exchange. The announcement was disseminated as regulated information and inside information.
The agreement covers five territories: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore. AFT has direct operations in each of them, as well as in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
The product concerned is a ready-to-use oral formulation intended for the treatment of hypophosphatemia, a condition characterised by an abnormally low phosphate level in the blood. Hyloris presents it as a standardised preparation aimed at precise dosing and simplified administration.
Exclusive rights for AFT, profits shared between the two groups
Under the terms of the agreement, AFT obtains exclusive commercial rights in the territories concerned. The two parties will share the profits generated by the commercial sales of the product.
This contract is part of an older collaboration between the two companies, which includes Maxigesic IV and other value-added drug programmes. Maxigesic IV, a non-opioid treatment for postoperative pain, is among the two products in Hyloris's portfolio at an early stage of commercialisation with partners.
Filings submitted in the European Union, patents in several countries
Hyloris has already submitted several regulatory applications for Phosphate Oral Liquid to the health authorities of the European Union. The company indicates that it has obtained patent protection in several countries, with other applications under review in other jurisdictions.
Chief Executive Officer Stijn Van Rompay stated: “Although phosphate supplementation is well established, existing formulations can present difficulties in terms of dosing precision and convenience.” He presents the product as “another example” of the group's strategy of improving established treatments.
Hyloris claims a portfolio of more than 25 value-added drugs, in addition to two generics marketed in the United States, Podofilox Gel and Tranexamic Acid RTU.
