Inventiva adopts a code of conduct governing its relationships with healthcare professionals
The Dijon-based biotech company, specializing in fibrotic and metabolic diseases, has formalized an internal framework governing all its exchanges with healthcare professionals and organizations.
This document, dated May 2026, defines the rules applicable to all employees and service providers acting on behalf of the company.
A framework applicable to all interactions with the medical community
The code of conduct adopted by Inventiva governs the main types of interactions with healthcare professionals (HCP) and healthcare organizations (HCO): events, hospitality, donations, grants, sponsorships, service contracts, medical samples, informational or educational materials and articles of medical utility.
The text establishes as a general rule that all these interactions must be conducted in an ethical, equitable, objective, sincere and transparent manner, in compliance with applicable laws and the company's internal policies.
It applies to all Inventiva personnel, regardless of the locations where employees or healthcare professionals are based, including for in-person or virtual interactions.
Specific rules on remuneration, hospitality and gifts
The document sets minimum standards for consulting contracts concluded with healthcare professionals, whose remuneration must reflect Fair Market Value and be based on a documented legitimate business need.
It governs hospitality related to events, limited to transport, meal, accommodation and registration expenses, with detailed monetary thresholds (for example a maximum of 60 euros per dinner and 200 euros per night of accommodation).
The code further prohibits the offering of gifts, non-educational items, entertainment or leisure activities to healthcare professionals, as well as the provision of medical samples as long as the company does not have a properly authorized product on the market.
