Inventiva stock leads SBF 120 following its results
The Burgundy-based biotech specializing in fibrotic and metabolic diseases posts the strongest gain in the index this Wednesday morning, following two analyst opinions maintained as positive, one accompanied by a reduced price target. The rebound comes as the stock has remained under heavy pressure for several weeks, accumulating a marked decline over one month.
Leading the SBF 120 with a gain of 5.4%, supported by two favorable analyst opinions
Inventiva gains 5.4% to €3.03 in session, establishing itself as the strongest performer in the SBF 120 in an index that is virtually stable (-0.05%). This movement follows two opinions published the previous day by brokerage houses. TD Cowen lowered its price target from €10.00 to €9.00, while maintaining its buy rating on the stock.
KBC Securities for its part confirmed its buy opinion, with an unchanged target of €8.00. At current prices, these two targets imply an upside potential of nearly 200% and over 160% respectively compared to the morning price. This 5.4% rebound partially offsets the 24.4% decline accumulated over one month, but falls far short of compensating for it.
An RSI at 27 still in oversold territory, resistance at €4.25 remains distant
In terms of market indicators, Inventiva displays an RSI at 27, in oversold territory, which reflects the selling exhaustion accumulated over several weeks. The stock remains significantly below its three moving averages: the MA20 at €3.42, the MA50 at €3.76 and the MA200 at €4.30, the latter representing a gap of nearly 30% above the current price. The support at €2.77, tested during recent decline sessions, remains held for now.
On the balance sheet side, cash reached €166.1 million as of June 30, 2026, following a financing restructuring. The primary results of the Phase 3 NATiV3 pivot study, examining lanifibranor in MASH, are expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and constitute the next determining event for the company.
