Klea Pharmaceuticals launches sales in the Emirates with 57 registered medicines
The Paris-listed group on Euronext Growth has confirmed the commercial launch of Klea Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary dedicated to the commercialization of licensed medicines in the Middle East and Africa. The announcement accompanies the subsidiary's effective entry into its distribution network and the strengthening of its management team.
Portfolio transfer and first order in the Emirates
In accordance with the timeline announced on June 11, 2026, Klea Pharmaceuticals finalized the transfer to its own operational structure of a portfolio of 57 medicines registered with the Emirates Drug Establishment and referenced under the Dubai Drug Code as well as the HAAD Code of Abu Dhabi, giving it access to public and private markets.
In this context, a first order was received from Alphamed, the pharmaceutical distribution division of Al Khayyat Investments. This order is intended to be delivered and recognized as revenue before the end of the year.
The company also indicates that it is expanding its presence in Bahrain and Qatar, leveraging the Emirati files to shorten registration timelines in these countries.
Two appointments to structure commercial momentum
Klea Pharmaceuticals announced the appointment of Imad Khalfi as Chief Commercial Officer and Abbas S. Deesawala as Chief Strategy Officer. Imad Khalfi, who led the Emirati development of the subsidiary (regulatory structure, scientific office, distribution partnership and team recruitment), was previously OTC director at Cooper Pharma. Abbas S. Deesawala, formerly responsible for commercial development and licensing within a regional pharmaceutical group, will oversee portfolio strategy, in-licensing and corporate development, including the company's evolution toward an integrated development and manufacturing model in India.
These appointments complete a management team that has also welcomed Omar Mamou as Country Manager for the United Arab Emirates. The company specifies that it has completed the recruitment of its sales force, covering the hospital line, key accounts and medical delegation across the Emirates.
