Lacroix: water quality sensors, sales multiplied by five in two years to €2.5M
The technology and industrial group detailed its development in connected water quality measurement, an activity it itself qualifies as a niche market. This communication comes in a context of strengthened European regulatory framework and public investment plans dedicated to digitalization of water networks.
A range expanded across the entire water cycle
Lacroix indicates it has expanded its range to cover the entire water cycle, including quality aspects. Following the 2023 launch of the Sofrel Chlorine chlorine measurement sensor dedicated to drinking water, the offering was enriched in 2025 with a first multiparameter sensor for wastewater treatment, integrating the main quality indicators before and after treatment. According to the group, this sensor enabled Spanish operators to comply with regulations requiring quality control of effluent discharges into the natural environment during heavy rainfall episodes and network overflow risks. A second multiparameter sensor, dedicated to drinking water quality monitoring, is expected to complete the range in 2026.
Regulation, public plans and expected slowdown in H2 2026
The group attributes this direction to an increasingly demanding European regulatory framework, notably the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (ERU) and Directive 2020/2184 on drinking water. It also cites national investment plans in Spain (PERTE), France (Water Plan 2023-2027) and Italy (PNRR), three countries that accelerated digitalization of their water networks in 2025 and early 2026. Vincent Bedouin, CEO of Lacroix, indicates proposing "a complete cybersecure solution (sensors, data loggers, remote management controllers and software platforms)" providing "our clients, both public and private, with trustworthy real-time data to manage their infrastructure". The group specifies that annual revenue from its quality sensors was multiplied by five between 2023 and 2025, reaching €2.5M, growth driven in 2025 by Spain which is expected to slow from the second half of 2026 with the end of the Spanish PERTE financing plan. In the medium term, Lacroix indicates its ambition to maintain very positive momentum in this sector by expanding its drinking water quality monitoring range.
