Legrand Acquires American Company Girtz Industries, Marking Its 6th Acquisition of the Year
On Wednesday, Legrand announced the acquisition of Girtz Industries, an American specialist in custom modular power solutions for data centers and critical infrastructure. This transaction, the sixth completed by the group since the start of the year, aligns with its strategy of targeted external growth focusing on energy transition.
Strengthening American Presence in Decentralized Solutions
Legrand has expanded its American operations with the acquisition of Girtz Industries, located in Monticello, Indiana. The company, which employs about 300 people, generates an annual revenue of nearly $80 million. Girtz Industries designs modular power solutions (Power Pods) and offers testing and technical engineering services. Its products meet the demand for backup power or primary decentralized solutions, especially in data centers, as well as in industrial, infrastructure, and commercial sectors. Benoît Coquart, CEO of Legrand, stated that 'Girtz Industries strengthens our position in the United States at the intersection of two major trends: the unprecedented growth of energy demand, reshaping the energy landscape, and the emergence of new data center architectures requiring high-density, energy-efficient, and increasingly decentralized power solutions.'
Six Acquisitions for an Additional €440 Million in Revenue
Girtz Industries represents the sixth acquisition successfully completed by Legrand since January 2026. Together, these six transactions contribute an additional annual revenue of nearly €440 million. All are centered around the opportunities presented by the energy transition and the expanding data center market. This pace of external growth underscores the group's commitment to a strategy of disciplined and targeted acquisitions, aligned with two major structural challenges in the sector.
