Mauna Kea Technologies: independent meta-analysis supports its endomicroscopy

The Company is positioning this publication within its objective to expand insurance coverage and clinical adoption in the United States.
An independent review funded by the South Korean evaluation agency
Mauna Kea Technologies announced the publication of a systematic review and meta-analysis focusing on probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) in upper gastrointestinal cancers. This work was conducted and funded by the National Evidence-Based Healthcare Collaborating Agency (NECA), South Korea's national health technology assessment body, and published in the journal Endoscopy International Open.
The meta-analysis aggregates data from 33 studies covering 2,350 patients. The Company clarifies that it did not intervene in the design, conduct, financing, or interpretation of this review, and that the authors declare having no conflicts of interest.
Upper gastrointestinal applications and United States coverage strategy
According to the Company, upper gastrointestinal applications form the foundation of its recurring per-procedure revenues, with coding under Category I CPT codes in the United States. In South Korea, the technology was subject to a favorable NECA evaluation in 2018, with coverage of the GastroFlex UHD miniprobe and the endomicroscopy procedure being ratified by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in February 2020.
Sacha Loiseau, Chief Executive Officer, indicated his conviction that this publication will contribute to expanding insurance coverage and clinical adoption of Cellvizio in the United States, which he designates as the primary market.
