My Energy Broker: Hugo Larricq Takes on Dual Role as Chairman and CEO
My Energy Broker Group announced on Friday a change in its governance. Hugo Larricq, formerly the CEO, now also holds the position of Chairman of the Board, replacing Charlie Evrard who resigned from this position while retaining a seat on the board.
Charlie Evrard Steps Down as Chairman
The board of directors of the energy brokerage approved on Friday, May 29, 2026, the appointment of Hugo Larricq as the chairman. This appointment follows the resignation of Charlie Evrard. The transition was prepared by Charlie Evrard himself, who nominated Hugo Larricq to the board to strengthen the group's governance. Hugo Larricq will retain his role as CEO while now also taking on the chairmanship. Charlie Evrard remains a member of the board and will continue to actively participate in the strategic direction of the group alongside other directors.
Strategic Continuity Affirmed
The board justified this change by the results achieved in the first quarter of 2026, which, according to them, validate the relevance of the strategic roadmap initiated under the leadership of Hugo Larricq. The combination of the two roles is expected to ensure, according to the statement, governmental clarity, managerial continuity, and better transparency towards investors and partners. Charlie Evrard expressed his trust in Hugo Larricq for 'this new phase of development'. Larricq thanked the board and Charlie Evrard for their confidence, committing to continue the execution of the roadmap with the group's teams.
