Ontex: Russia takes operational control of its subsidiary, representing up to 8% of its adjusted EBITDA
Ontex Group announced in a press release published on October 16, 2026, that it had been informed of a Russian presidential decree dated October 15, 2026, targeting its local subsidiary, Ontex Rusland. The entity in question represents approximately 5% of the total revenue of the Belgian manufacturer of disposable hygiene products.
A state-appointed administrator has taken operational control
The decree places Ontex Rusland under a temporary administration regime. As part of this procedure, an interim administrator appointed by Russian authorities has taken operational control of the subsidiary.
Ontex Rusland currently employs approximately 350 people. It operates a production site in Noginsk and a commercial office in Moscow.
A subsidiary accounting for 7 to 8% of the group's adjusted EBITDA
According to the group, Ontex Rusland represents 7 to 8% of Ontex Group's adjusted EBITDA, calculated according to IFRS consolidation rules. Its share in operational profitability is thus greater than its weight in revenue, at approximately 5%.
The company specifies that the contribution of this subsidiary to the group's cash flow is limited.
Ontex examines the situation to protect its assets
Ontex has indicated that it is examining the situation and plans to take appropriate measures to protect its assets as well as the continuity of Ontex Rusland's operations.
The group, whose headquarters are located in Aalst (Belgium) and which is listed on Euronext Brussels, is taking these measures in the interest of its employees and other stakeholders.
