Philips Unveils Rembra, a Scanner Capable of Imaging 270 Patients per Day
Royal Philips introduced Rembra on Thursday, a new computed tomography platform designed for high-demand and acute imaging environments. The system was publicly presented for the first time at the ECR 2026 congress in Vienna.
Rembra incorporates advanced image reconstruction technology capable of producing up to 106 images per second and supporting a high throughput of up to 270 patients per day. This architecture is aimed at accelerating diagnostics by making scanners available in near real-time. The system features the largest opening in its class with a diameter of 85 cm, accommodating patients with complex conditions and facilitating complex interventions, bariatric imaging, and trauma situations. This design aims to enhance the comfort of complex patients and potentially reduce the need for rescans.
