Publicis stock lagging in CAC 40, below its €94 support level
Selling pressure intensified on the communications group on Wednesday, finding itself at the bottom of an almost stable CAC 40. An upward revision of the target price published this morning by Huber Research Partners was not enough to halt the decline.
Lagging in CAC 40 with a decline extending a difficult month
Publicis Groupe fell 1.71% to €94.14 in trading, emerging as the strongest decline in the CAC 40 in a session where the Paris index evolved practically in balance (-0.03%). The decline is part of a difficult monthly sequence: the stock is down 7.39% over one month, erasing a significant portion of the quarterly rebound of 6.83% recorded over three months. The price slipped below its support threshold at €95.78, which corresponds to the previous day's closing level, reinforcing downward pressure in the short term.
The two reference moving averages for the short and medium term weigh on the technical configuration: the stock is trading at €94.14, approximately 4% below the 20-day MA at €98.02 and the 50-day MA at €97.57, which now form a nearby double resistance. Only the 200-day MA at €85.48 remains clearly below the price, offering a 10% cushion over the long term.

This morning, Huber Research Partners raised its rating on the stock to "overweight", coupled with a new price target of €106, versus €98 previously. This target implies a rebound potential of approximately 12.6% compared to the current price, but the publication was not sufficient to reverse the trend in trading. In parallel, according to reported declarations, net short positions on the stock reach 4.16% of capital, driven by six funds, up 0.78 percentage points over thirty days (versus 3.38% a month ago).
This level, above the 3% threshold, reflects a notable institutional bearish positioning that merits monitoring, without being able to deduce the precise motivations of these players. During the publication of H1 2026 results on July 16, 2026, Publicis Groupe had raised its organic growth target for 2026 to a range of +4.5% to +5%, a sign of displayed confidence in commercial momentum. The resistance at €104.10 constitutes the next hurdle to clear for the stock to return to a more favorable trajectory.
