Quadient Surpasses 3,000 Parcel Pending Locker Locations in the UK
Quadient has announced surpassing the 3,000-location milestone for its Parcel Pending network in the UK. This expansion of the open-carrier logistics locker network strengthens the last-mile delivery infrastructure and meets a growing consumer demand for shared collection and return solutions.
A 24/7 Accessible Locker Network for All Carriers
The Parcel Pending by Quadient network offers consumers the ability to collect and return parcels from multiple carriers (Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, UPS) at a single location, available 24 hours a day. Beyond parcel logistics, the network also supports ancillary services such as medical prescription pickups, in-store pickups (click-and-collect), key exchanges, and temporary luggage storage, through partnerships with providers like KeyNest, Stasher, and Qeepl. The lockers are located in high-traffic areas (Shell service stations, train stations, small businesses, leisure centers) and are integrated into a network of host partners including Morrisons, Northern Rail, Buzz Bingo, and Stonegate Group establishments.
59% of Consumers Want Centralized Collection and Returns
According to a study commissioned by Quadient, 59% of consumers want to manage parcels from multiple carriers in one place, and 54% are frustrated by having to visit multiple locations for collections and returns. For carriers and service providers, the network offers a scalable and economical alternative to home delivery, reducing failed delivery attempts and improving operational efficiency. Impact data highlighted in the release: 76% of customers specifically visit the locker, and among those who access the facilities, 82% make an additional purchase and 41% report a more favorable perception of the host location due to this presence.
A Global Expansion Strategy Targeting 40,000 Lockers by 2030
Quadient currently has over 28,200 locker units deployed globally and aims to install 40,000 lockers by 2030. Geoffrey Godet, CEO of Quadient, stated that surpassing 3,000 locations in the UK marks 'a fundamental evolution in the management of daily deliveries and services,' highlighting that the network creates a shared infrastructure beneficial to consumers, businesses, carriers, and host partners.
