Recticel Joins the Financial Times' Top 100 European Climate Leaders
Recticel Group has been included in the Financial Times' annual ranking of European climate leaders, securing the 89th position among 600 companies recognized for their reduction in greenhouse gas emission intensity. In the construction and building materials sector, the group ranks 10th out of 48 companies.
First Recognition Based on Emission Reduction
This inclusion reflects the group's efforts to reduce the intensity of its Scope 1 and 2 emissions over a five-year evaluation period. The Financial Times ranking, established in collaboration with data provider Statista, also assesses companies on the quality of their sustainability reports, qualitative disclosure of Scope 3 emissions, and alignment with recognized climate initiatives and frameworks.
Stefaan Debusschere, CEO of Recticel Group, stated: "Being recognized for the first time as one of Europe's climate leaders by the Financial Times is a significant milestone. This distinction reflects the collective commitment and ongoing efforts of our teams to drive sustainable growth at scale and accelerate the transition to more energy-efficient and circular building solutions."
Carbon Footprint Reduction, a Strategic Pillar of the ELEVATE 2030 Plan
Reducing the carbon footprint is one of the six strategic pillars of ELEVATE 2030, the group's value creation-based growth plan. Recticel made a decisive step by commissioning an industrial-scale recycled polyol plant, with an investment of 13 million euros in Belgium, announced on May 13, 2026. This facility will convert 4,000 tons of post-production polyurethane waste into high-quality recycled polyol for closed-loop manufacturing of new insulation boards, significantly reducing the product's carbon footprint.
