Rexel Shares Down 2.36% to €37.17 Despite a 47% Yearly Increase
The electrical equipment distributor drops 2.36% midday to €37.17 in a heavily declining Parisian market. The SBF 120 is down by 1.33% during the session and the CAC 40 decreases by 1.35%. However, the stock still maintains a 47.44% gain over the past year.
The Stock Revisits Its Moving Averages After a North American Acquisition
Rexel falls to €37.17 after signing on May 12 the acquisition of Revere Electrical Supply, an industrial automation distributor based in Illinois which reported approximately $330 million in revenue in 2025. This marks the group's second external growth operation since the beginning of the year and the 16th in North America since 2020. The North American region increasingly influences the mix: it had driven the organic growth in the first quarter to +5.8%, while Europe remained almost stable at +0.6%. On May 6, the group also launched a €400 million OCEANEs issue maturing in 2031, aimed at meeting the general needs of the company. The economic context remains a point of vigilance for distributors exposed to the construction sector: construction production in France has fallen by 3.5% over the year and order books are down by 33 according to the latest data available.
The Decline Brings the Price Towards the 20-Day Moving Average in a Sharply Retreating SBF 120
The price is moving in the upper part of the Bollinger Bands (at 60% of the width), still above the MM20 at €36.62 (gap +1.50%) and significantly above the MM200 at €32.08 (gap +15.87%). The RSI at 59 remains in the neutral zone, with no signs of overheating or overselling. The support threshold identified at €33.28 is below the MM50 (€35.15), while the resistance of €38.48 (close to the recent peak) has not been breached. With a decline of 2.36%, the stock ranks 98th in the SBF 120, with the index itself losing 1.33% during the session. Over seven days, the performance is barely negative (-1.54%). The next key date on the calendar: the publication of the first half of 2026 results, expected on July 28, 2026.
