Sopra Steria to Consolidate Its 2,000 Employees into a Single Campus in Blagnac by 2028
Sopra Steria announces the consolidation of its Toulouse teams into a single 24,000 m² campus in Blagnac, to be delivered by Icade in autumn 2027. This move is part of an integration strategy aimed at enhancing synergies among its expertise and better serving its clients in the aerospace and space sectors.
A Strategic Consolidation at the Heart of the Aerospace Hub
Sopra Steria will unify more than 2,000 employees, currently spread across several Toulouse sites, into one campus. Named Horizon, this 24,000 m² real estate project is located in Blagnac, immediately adjacent to Airbus and the European aerospace hub. The campus, designed by SUD Architectes and organized into four wings of five levels each, aims to encourage cross-disciplinary exchanges and create conditions for enhanced collaboration among consulting, system integration, cybersecurity, AI, and aerospace and space sector teams. The goal is to strengthen synergies between these areas of expertise and provide smoother client relations on large-scale projects. The group justifies this consolidation with a client proximity strategy: being located at the heart of the industrial hub allows Sopra Steria to closely understand and respond to its clients' challenges with the responsiveness required for digital transformations in critical sectors such as aerospace, space, and defense.
A 10-Year Lease with Delivery Scheduled for Autumn 2027
Icade, the landowner, signed a 10-year firm lease agreement with Sopra Steria in July 2024 for a building to be completed (BEFA). The construction, starting in April 2025, is expected to result in the campus's delivery in autumn 2027. The site will benefit from direct access to the future Toulouse metro line C and tramway T1, as well as 621 car parking spaces and 350 bicycle spaces. The campus will feature a 2,264 m² hanging garden, a company restaurant, a business center, a gym, and planted terraces accessible from each floor.
A Strong Environmental Ambition and a Regional Recruitment Plan
The Horizon project is part of an ambitious environmental approach, in line with the European taxonomy. The campus will aim for HQE Excellent and R2S certifications, adhering to the RE2020 regulations at the 2025 threshold. Demolition materials will be maximally valorized, aiming for a 4/4 reuse rate. GA Smart Building will employ its off-site construction process, with production in French factories. The campus will benefit from photovoltaic panels and a digital energy management system. The project will de-artificialize 22% of the plot, creating 6,371 m² of open ground and 2,264 m² of planted slab to combat heat islands. Concurrently, Sopra Steria plans to recruit over 600 people in the Occitanie region in 2026.
