SPIE Equips New Music Academy in Bydgoszcz, Poland
SPIE has completed a telecommunications systems and building management system installation project for the new Feliks Nowowiejski Music Academy site in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The project was conducted by SPIE LTEC, a Polish subsidiary specializing in building automation.
Security and Communication Systems Deployed
SPIE LTEC provided and installed all telecommunications systems as well as deployed and integrated automation solutions within the main security management platform. The group installed fire detection and voice alarm systems, a smoke extraction system with fan and fire damper controls, an intrusion detection system, and a gas detection system for the underground parking. SPIE also deployed video surveillance solutions, access control systems, video intercoms, RTV installations, and a structured cabling network.
Acoustic Constraints and Aesthetic Requirements
The Music Academy houses concert halls and about a hundred rehearsal rooms, each equipped with specific sound insulation. The installation work adhered to strict soundproofing performance standards: upon completion, each space was inspected by an expert. This requirement necessitated unique sealing methods and solutions that differ from those typically used in offices or commercial buildings. Beyond acoustic constraints, the building's architecture and high level of aesthetic demand were significant challenges. Some equipment, such as access control readers, was selected and customized in consultation with the architect to integrate seamlessly into the building.
Delivery Before the 2025/2026 Academic Year
The project was completed within particularly tight deadlines. Thanks to close coordination among all stakeholders and increased mobilization during the final phase, the construction was finished before the start of the 2025/2026 academic year. With the operating permit obtained in early September 2025, the institution was able to open its doors as scheduled.
