Technip Energies Stock Surges Nearly 7%, Leading the SBF 120
Technip Energies posts the strongest gain on the SBF 120 in early September, in a broadly declining European market. The stock returns to contact with its 50-day moving average and largely erases its quarterly decline, in a context where overall market volatility is rising significantly.
Technip Energies Leads SBF 120 with a 6.71% Surge, in a Declining Market
Technip Energies gains 6.71% during the session at €32.12, undoubtedly posting the best performance on the SBF 120 while the index declines 0.48%. The CAC 40 falls 0.49%, in a market environment weighed down by negative U.S. closings on Monday (S&P 500 at -0.47%). The VIX, a barometer of market nervousness, surges 10.4% during the session to 15.93, signaling heightened tension on Tuesday.
In this context, the strength of Technip Energies' rebound stands out against the general trend. Over the week, the stock now shows a gain of 9.63%, after finishing July and the first half of August under pressure. Monthly performance stands at +7.43%, which partially offsets the 9.42% decline recorded over three months.
The 50-Day MA Breached at Contact, the 200-Day MA Still Distant at €34.11 as Technical Ceiling
In terms of key levels, the stock is now at contact with its 50-day moving average, set at €32.04, with only a 0.25% gap. This level marks a turning point: by staying above it, the stock would validate a medium-term recovery initiated after the severe sell-off following the July half-year publication, the August 26 rebound having already allowed it to move back above the 20-day MA (currently at €30.16). The RSI at 44 remains in neutral territory, with no overbought signal despite the size of today's gain.
Natural resistance stands at €34.36, and the 200-day moving average at €34.11 represents a significant obstacle, 6% above the current price. The Kepler Cheuvreux Autumn Conference scheduled for September 8 will be the group's next public appointment.
