Valneva shares fall 2% this morning and drop 8% over one month

A stock below its three moving averages, out of step with the SBF 120's rise

Valneva shares fell 2.08% to €2.40 intraday, while the SBF 120 gained 0.43%. This decline places the stock near the bottom of the index. The stock trades below its 20-day moving average (€2.50, a gap of 3.92%), its 50-day moving average (€2.68) and its 200-day moving average (€2.93), the latter 18% above the share price.

Valneva had nevertheless regained ground on October 28, but the rebound was not enough to recover the moving averages. The support at €2.33 is now around 3% below the share price, and the stock has lost 8% over one month.

A cautious half-year publication and a Lyme disease vaccine expected

At the release of the first-half 2026 results on August 13, Valneva confirmed its outlook for the year, despite the persistent negative impact of the geopolitical context on travel. Among the risks cited on that occasion was the dependence on IXIARO deliveries to the U.S. Department of Defense, whose timing remains uncertain.

On the opportunity side, regulatory decisions are expected within the next twelve months for the LB6V vaccine candidate against Lyme disease. The company's executives are also presenting these catalysts at investor conferences announced in mid-October. Over one year, the stock has further declined by 40.6%.
