Vusion Shares Drop 2.5% Amidst CAC 40 Turmoil Triggered by Middle East Tensions
The Nanterre-based specialist in connected electronic labels takes another pause in a Parisian market heavily trending downwards. After a week of rebound, the stock joins a CAC 40 shaken by the new escalation in the Middle East, although not directly affected by this geopolitical context.
A Retreat Breaking the Weekly Rebound Momentum of the Stock
Vusion shares fall 2.32% to €135.00, down from €138.20 the previous day. The decline is part of a sharply deteriorating Parisian market, with the CAC 40 losing nearly 2% and the SBF 120 down 2.01% during the session, as Washington claims to have conducted strikes against Iran, and Tehran claims retaliation in Kuwait and Bahrain. Vusion is not directly linked to this geopolitical context, but the stock follows the general market trend after a rebound phase. Over the week, the performance remains positive at close to 7%, while the annual decline reaches 46.22%. In its index, the stock ranks mid-table in the SBF 120 for the session, with the day dominated by declines led by Vivendi (-10.65%) and gains by Maurel and Prom (+6.3%).
The day's movement is interpreted with two consistent technical benchmarks. The price remains just above its MM20 at €134.29 (a gap of 0.53%) and maintains a cushion of 5% over its MM50 at €128.53, which for now preserves the medium-term dynamic. However, the MM200 at €169.32 remains 20% above the current price, highlighting the significant drop in the stock over the year. The RSI at 37 indicates a reduction in buying pressure after the recent rebound, without moving into an oversold zone.
High but Significantly Reduced Short Positions Over Thirty Days
The stock continues to be characterized by significant bearish betting, but the trend is lightening. According to collected statements, seven funds cumulatively hold 4.98% of the capital sold short, a level that remains high for an SBF 120 stock. Over thirty days, this total has decreased by 1.78 points, after peaking at 6.76%. In other words, institutional investors continue to position against the stock or cover exposure, but several seem to have started closing their positions as the price recovered 27.48% over three months. This parameter should be viewed without overinterpretation: it sheds light on part of the stock's profile, it does not replace fundamentals.
On the business side, the company has multiplied commercial announcements in recent weeks. On June 16, it expanded its partnership with JYSK to 2,500 stores by 2027 in Europe. On June 23, it secured the deployment of 2 million labels in 300 Gratis stores in Turkey, a market that has become a driver for the EMEA region. The next technical milestone lies at the MM20 at €134.29, tested during the session: its support will condition the maintained gap with the MM50, while the identified resistance at €147 remains distant.
