Cafom Acquires Brandt, De Dietrich, Sauter, and Vedette for €18.6 Million
Cafom Group has been designated by the Nanterre Economic Affairs Court to oversee the relaunch of the Brandt, De Dietrich, Sauter, and Vedette brands as part of the judicial liquidation plan for Groupe Brandt and Brandt France. The acquisition took place on March 16, 2026.
Acquisition Details
Cafom Group was awarded the takeover of the four brands Brandt, De Dietrich, Sauter, and Vedette, along with their associated patents, in the context of the judicial liquidation of Groupe Brandt and Brandt France. The acquisition proposal, considered more protective of the liquidator's interests and more robust due to its financial structuring, involves a total amount of €18.6 million. This sum includes the brands, patents, finished product inventories, spare parts, and after-sales service elements. An additional €3.5 million will be paid directly by Cafom to cover some of the amounts owed to secured creditors, thus reducing the liabilities in the Brandt France liquidation process.
Initiatives for Business Revival
Cafom has implemented several measures to ensure the revival of operations. The group has formed a partnership with Arpa, a company based in Alsace specializing in the production of cooking appliances, to maintain a significant production volume in France, particularly for induction tables. This production is expected to enable Arpa to create over 50 jobs in the short term and 130 in the medium to long term, with the development of a new production and assembly line for ovens. Cafom has also partnered with the Breton startup EverEver for the development of a new range of washing machines in the coming months, and with SOS Accessoire to ensure the supply of spare parts. The entire operation is financed by Cafom Group's available and mobilizable resources.
Brand Relaunch Strategy
The relaunch of the brands covers distribution in France and internationally. Cafom has logistical capacities available in metropolitan France and overseas, which will facilitate the redeployment of products and reduce holding costs. The group intends to preserve the manufacturing of products on French territory to maintain full control of its supply chain in the future.
