Partnership Details
The memorandum of understanding signed on April 16, 2026, brings together the Maharashtra government, JW Global Group (a global conglomerate based in India), and The Seed Consortium Partners (comprising technology players and investors). Haffner Energy is featured as a technology partner for green hydrogen. The four projects will be developed over 275 hectares on both sides of the Bhima River, near the Ujani Dam Reservoir in Maharashtra. Two of the four projects rely on Haffner Energy's proprietary biomass conversion technologies.
Financial Scope of the Agreement
The agreement represents approximately 15 billion euros (165,000 crore rupees) of investments spread across all four clean technology and infrastructure projects. According to JW Global, all necessary studies will begin shortly.
Technological Impact
Two of the four projects included in the memorandum of understanding utilize Haffner Energy's technologies, particularly for the production of green hydrogen from biomass. One of these projects involves the development of one of India's most ambitious artificial intelligence infrastructures. Haffner Energy utilizes its proprietary technologies for biomass thermolysis and gasification to produce renewable gas, hydrogen, and methanol, as well as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), while co-producing biogenic CO2 and biocarbon.
