JCDecaux Acquires Strategic Advertising Network in Tokyo
On March 30, 2026, JCDecaux signed an agreement to acquire Vista Communications Inc., a Japanese company specializing in taxi shelter advertising in Tokyo. This acquisition allows the French group to strengthen its position through its joint venture MCDecaux in the Japanese outdoor advertising market.
Expansion of Taxi Shelter Advertising
Since 2012, Vista Communications has operated a portfolio of 29 taxi shelters in Tokyo, featuring 58 advertising faces, including 7 digital ones. These locations are concentrated in high-traffic areas such as Shibuya, Roppongi, Shinjuku, Shinagawa, Akihabara, and Ueno. The acquisition marks MCDecaux's entry into the taxi shelter segment, complementing its existing offering of over 850 B-Stop® advertising passenger shelters in Tokyo, thus providing a broader range of street furniture to advertisers and residents.
Dominance in Urban Outdoor Advertising
MCDecaux now operates B-Stop® and City Information Panels across 43 cities in Japan, including the ten most populous. With this acquisition, the group becomes the leading operator of taxi shelters in Tokyo, one of the world's largest metropolises. The integration of Vista Communications strengthens MCDecaux's design, maintenance, and upkeep services in a context of increasing digitalization of the Japanese outdoor advertising market.
Global Leadership in Outdoor Advertising
JCDecaux remains the global leader in outdoor advertising with 1,105,906 advertising faces across 79 countries and a daily audience of 850 million people. The group reported a revenue of 3,967.1 million euros in 2025 and employs 11,894 staff members. In Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, the group holds the top position in its industry.
