In its annual report titled 'Building foundations for the future', the Belgian personal hygiene products manufacturer admits that the year 2025 was marked by difficulties. 'Our performance did not meet our initial expectations,' stated Laurent Nielly, CEO of Ontex, in the release. According to the group, challenging market conditions impacted the results of the fiscal year. The document covers all financial, environmental, social, and governance data of the company for the past year, as well as its strategy and managerial organization. Strategic Execution Amid Disappointing Results
Despite disappointing results, the company asserts that it has conducted a targeted execution of its strategy during the fiscal year. Ontex reports having completed its geographic refocusing on Europe and North America, its two main markets. The group also continued its efforts to improve operational efficiency, according to the release. Additionally, the company claims to have enhanced the depth, relevance, and speed of innovation across its various product categories, which include baby care, feminine hygiene, and adult products, aimed at both distributors and the healthcare sector.

According to its CEO, the progress made in innovation, sustainability, governance, and financial discipline constitutes 'a stronger foundation' for the future of the group. Laurent Nielly also highlights the commitment of the teams as a positive element of the fiscal year. Ontex now focuses on unlocking its intrinsic value. The group employs about 5,000 people and has factories and offices in 12 countries. Its products are distributed in nearly 100 countries. The company, headquartered in Aalst, Belgium, is listed on Euronext Brussels.
