Abivax share falls nearly 2% and tests fragile support at €98
The Parisian biotech company is losing ground this Friday, in a context of a well-oriented market, with the CAC 40 up more than 1% during the session. The decline brings the stock back to a technically sensitive level, after several weeks of selling pressure that have gradually erased a large portion of gains accumulated since the beginning of the year.
A support level briefly breached during the session before a slight rebound above €98
Abivax is down 1.9% to €98.05 during the session, contrary to the SBF 120 which is rising 1%. The stock briefly broke through its support level at €98.10 during the session, touching a low of €97.85, before rising slightly above this level. This threshold, now being tested, remains fragile.
Below its three moving averages (20-day MA at €105.51, 50-day MA at €108.53 and 200-day MA at €103.15), the stock is evolving in a deteriorated configuration over several time horizons, with respective gaps of 7.07%, 9.66% and 4.94% below these reference points. The RSI at 43 remains in neutral territory, without a marked signal of selling exhaustion at this stage, which leaves downward pressure open.
Short positions increasing and US NDA expected as next fundamental reference point
Regarding declared bearish positions, five funds cumulate 5.81% of capital sold short, up 0.96 percentage points over thirty days, according to recorded disclosures. This level, above the 5% threshold, reflects notable institutional pressure on the stock, although the monthly pace of progression remains moderate. This positioning does not prejudge the individual reasons of the funds concerned (hedging, pure bearish conviction), but it reflects a real degree of caution around the security.
On the substance, the company remains awaiting the filing of its New Drug Application (NDA) with the United States for obefazimod, whose positive FDA feedback had been announced in early August. This filing, expected by the company in the course of the year according to the publication of June 29, 2026, constitutes the main identifiable fundamental reference point in the medium term. The resistance level at €119.20 remains far away, more than 21% above the current price.
