Abivax share slips below its moving averages ahead of H1 results
The Parisian biotech company closes down this Monday, following the publication of its first-half 2026 results. The stock loses ground as the SBF 120 also closes in negative territory, amid a context of strong global monetary uncertainty.
First-half results published today in a market globally oriented downward
The Abivax share closes at €99.70, down 1.58% from the last close on Friday, September 11. This session coincides with the publication of first-half 2026 results, the details of which will feed into the dedicated H1 2026 results meeting, scheduled for September 21. The Paris market showed little generosity on Monday: the SBF 120 fell 0.84% at close, the CAC 40 declined 0.85%, in a session marked by rising tensions in the rates markets. The VIX, implicit volatility index, jumped 8.65% during the session, to 17.21, reflecting a renewed risk aversion as major central banks (Fed on Wednesday, Bank of England on Thursday, Bank of Japan on Friday) are about to deliver their verdicts on key interest rates in the coming days.
Persistent technical pressure accentuated by rising short-selling positions
From a technical chart perspective, Abivax is slipping below its three reference moving averages: at €99.70, the share is trading slightly below the 20-day MA at €100.35 (difference of -0.65%), below the 200-day MA at €103.02 (-3.22%) and well below the 50-day MA at €109.43 (-8.89%). The RSI at 44 remains in neutral territory, without a clear oversold signal, which does not indicate imminent seller exhaustion. The support level at €96.65 now constitutes the next technical reference level in the event of further decline. The past week remains slightly positive (+2.15% over seven days), which moderates the recent trend, even though the share broke its support in early September and shows a decline of 6.47% over one month.
On the positioning side, the data consulted shows a notable increase in short-selling: five funds cumulatively hold 5.90% of capital sold short, compared to 5.04% thirty days ago, representing an increase of 0.86 percentage point. This elevated level testifies to marked caution from part of institutional investors regarding the stock, although it is impossible to determine their precise motivations. The next meeting is scheduled for September 21, the date of the detailed presentation of first-half 2026 results.
