Abivax share price falls below 100 €, symbolic threshold breached
The Paris-based biotech is posting a sharp decline on Monday in a nearly stable Paris market, bringing its monthly loss to over 13%. The stock, which had regained momentum over the summer thanks to regulatory advances, is now under pressure, with a symbolic level within reach.
Abivax below its three moving averages, the 100 € threshold under pressure
In trading, Abivax falls 2.75% to 99.00 €, ranking among the steepest declines on the SBF 120. The stock is settling below the 100 € mark for the first time, which coincides with the support threshold identified at 100.20 €. This downside breach is notable: over one month, the decline reaches 13.54%, partially offsetting the summer rebound. The technical configuration has deteriorated significantly.
The price is now trading below its three moving averages: MA20 at 107.42 €, MA50 at 107.37 € and MA200 at 102.95 €, with respective gaps of nearly 8% for the first two and 3.84% for the third. The RSI at 41 remains in neutral territory, without a clear signal of selling exhaustion, which keeps the downward pressure intact in the short term. Monthly volatility, at 25.51%, reflects the amplitude of movements that characterize this type of biotechnology stock.
Encouraging FDA advances, but sustained short interest in the capital
On the fundamentals, Abivax is nevertheless posting a gain of nearly 49% over one year, driven in particular by the positive FDA feedback received in early August as part of pre-NDA discussions on obefazimod, its flagship therapeutic candidate for ulcerative colitis. The company targeted, when publishing its results on June 29, 2026, the submission of the marketing authorization request in the United States by year-end. This regulatory timeline remains the main substantive issue for the stock. In parallel, declared net short positions reach 5.04% of the capital, held by five funds, according to the filings reviewed.
This level, up slightly by 0.16 percentage points over thirty days compared to the 4.88% recorded a month earlier, reflects a persistent bearish bet on the stock. A short interest of this magnitude on a biotech in regulatory phase generally translates into heightened sensitivity to authorization process risks, without being able to infer lasting distrust: short positions can be covered quickly in the event of favorable news. The next resistance is identified at 120.10 €, representing an upside potential of over 21% from the current price.
