Abivax Stock Soars 40% Over a Month, Nearing €125
The French biotech takes a new break during the session, in a Parisian market heavily affected by the resurgence of tensions in the Middle East. However, the stock's decline remains modest compared to its exceptional annual performance, coming after Oddo BHF raised its price target.
A Measured Decline That Leaves the Post-Rally Technical Overheat Intact
Abivax stock drops 3% to €123.00 during the session, down from €126.80 the previous day. This movement is part of a CAC 40 that is down by 2.01% and an SBF 120 losing 1.95%, weighed down by new military escalations between Washington and Tehran and a VIX that jumps nearly 13%. Nevertheless, the stock remains well-oriented across all time scales: +6.49% over the week, +40% over a month, and a staggering annual gain of 1,709%. The price is significantly above its three moving averages, with a 27.3% gap from the MM20 (€96.63) and 26.2% from the MM200 (€97.48), indicating a very stretched configuration.
The RSI at 67 remains below the formal overbought threshold but confirms the persistence of bullish momentum after the recent rally. According to reviewed statements, the cumulative net short position stands at 5.09% of the capital, carried by four funds, down 0.52 points over thirty days. This level remains high and signals a structural bearish bet still present in the capital, although the recent dynamics indicate the beginning of coverage. This type of exposure also fuels upward volatility in case of forced buybacks, which should be monitored without drawing isolated conclusions.
Price Target Raised by Oddo BHF, Following the US Fundraising
Oddo BHF raised its price target on the French biotech from €120 to €141 on Monday, confirming its Outperform rating. Based on the current price, the new target offers a potential for progression of about 14.6%. This revision follows the completion of a $920 million fundraising on Wall Street, finalized on July 6 after the full exercise of the over-allotment option.
This operation, carried out in the form of ADS listed on the Nasdaq, secures the group's financing until 2029 and enables it to prepare for the filing of its marketing authorization application in the United States, planned later this year as indicated during the semi-annual publication on June 29, 2026. The consensus among analysts is generally favorable to the file, supported by positive clinical results presented at the end of June on obefazimod in ulcerative colitis. The next concrete milestone for the stock: the regulatory filing in the United States expected by the end of the year.
