Air Algérie Receives Its First Airbus A330neo
Air Algérie has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-900, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of its long-haul fleet.
A Major Fleet Renewal Milestone
According to Air Algérie's press release, the arrival of the A330-900 represents a major turning point in the renewal of its fleet. This aircraft will enable the airline to expand its routes from Algiers, particularly to transatlantic and Asian destinations. Air Algérie is set to receive seven more A330neos, making it the leading operator of this type of aircraft in Africa. The new plane features a three-class cabin configuration, including 18 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 266 economy class seats.
Enhanced Passenger Comfort with Airspace Cabin
According to the group, the Airbus A330neo incorporates the Airspace cabin, providing passengers with increased comfort due to more personal space, enlarged overhead storage bins, a new lighting system, and access to the latest in-flight entertainment and connectivity technologies. This upgrade is part of a broader strategy to position Air Algérie as a center of excellence for the A330neo, with the development of its maintenance capabilities and the establishment of a training center for aircraft maintenance.
Airbus's Global A330 Family Achievements
Airbus announced that by the end of October 2025, the A330 family had recorded more than 1,900 firm orders from over 130 customers worldwide. Like all Airbus aircraft, the A330neo is capable of operating with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), a feature that the company aims to increase to 100% by 2030.
