Air Canada Confirms Order for Eight Airbus A350-1000s
Air Canada has announced a firm order for eight Airbus A350-1000s, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of its long-haul fleet strategy. This order, initially unidentified in November 2025, is part of the airline's commitment to Airbus' wide-body aircraft.
Strategic Expansion with the A350-1000
Air Canada is positioning the A350-1000 at the heart of its global expansion, aiming to establish direct connectivity from Canada to rapidly growing markets in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Australia. The aircraft's leading-edge range, reaching up to 9,000 nautical miles, is central to this geographic deployment strategy. According to Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Affairs at Air Canada, 'Choosing the A350-1000 is a natural step in the evolution of our fleet and opens new opportunities for long-haul connections across the globe.'
Enhanced Passenger Experience with Airspace Cabin
The A350-1000 features the Airspace cabin, representing the next evolution of Air Canada's passenger experience. The aircraft benefits from cutting-edge technology and aerodynamics, offering unmatched standards of efficiency and comfort. Its latest-generation Rolls-Royce engines and the use of lightweight materials help reduce fuel consumption and emissions compared to previous generation competitor aircraft. The A350 is already capable of operating with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), according to the group.
