Airbus Defence and Space has delivered its first A400M aircraft to Indonesia, marking a significant step for the country in modernizing its military transport capabilities.
The delivery ceremony took place at Halim Air Base in Jakarta, following the aircraft's handover at the Airbus facility in Seville, Spain. This is the first of two A400Ms ordered by Indonesia in 2021. The second aircraft is expected to arrive in 2026, according to the company.

In addition to the delivery, Airbus will provide the Indonesian Air Force with training and support services to ensure smooth integration. Furthermore, Indonesia is considering the potential integration of a newly developed firefighting kit for the A400M.
Capabilities of the Delivered A400M
The delivered A400M is configured for troop transport, MEDEVAC, and humanitarian missions. It can carry a maximum payload of 37 tonnes and operate on short and unpaved runways. Additionally, it serves as a multi-role aerial refueling platform, thus enhancing the reach of the Indonesian Air Force.
