Airbus Helicopters to Support H145 Fleet of Civil Security and National Gendarmerie
Airbus Helicopters has signed a contract with the Directorate of Aeronautical Maintenance for the full maintenance of the H145 helicopters of the Civil Security and the National Gendarmerie.
Comprehensive Support Agreement
According to the press release, Airbus Helicopters will support all helicopters from the H145 family used by the French Civil Security and National Gendarmerie authorities. This new agreement, which lasts up to ten years, covers 46 H145 helicopters, including 40 for Civil Security and six for the National Gendarmerie. Airbus Helicopters will execute this contract in partnership with Babcock.
Expansion of Existing Contracts
This new contract supplements a previous support agreement for their EC145 helicopter fleet signed in May 2024, also in partnership with Babcock. Together, these contracts enable Airbus Helicopters to take responsibility for all H145 family helicopters operated by these public safety agencies. The unified support structure aims to ensure maximum availability and operational efficiency for these critical missions.
Commitment to Fleet Renewal
According to the company, Airbus is also committed to renewing the fleet of helicopters for Civil Security and the Gendarmerie. The H145 helicopters of Civil Security are used for search and rescue missions, emergency medical services, firefighting, and law enforcement. The Gendarmerie recently received its first new H145, following orders placed by the French Ministry of the Interior in 2021 and 2024.
