Airbus Shares Drop 2.09% to €171.82, Weighed Down by Brent Above $106
Airbus shares fell by 2.09% to €171.82 as the market approached closing, within a CAC 40 that declined by 1.02% to 7,974 points. The European aircraft manufacturer operates in a pressured Paris market, as Brent oil rebounds to $106.46. The stock has fallen below its 20-day moving average and now shows a decline of 8.24% over three months.
Oil Context Once Again Weighs on the Aerospace Sector
Brent oil has risen by 1.80% to $106.46, driven by ongoing tensions around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. Indirect exchanges between Washington and Tehran through the Pakistani mediator have not solidified the ceasefire, which is considered fragile by Donald Trump. France and the United Kingdom are set to co-chair a meeting on a potential security mission for the strategic Gulf passage.
This situation weighs on the entire European aerospace sector, as client companies see their fuel costs increase. Airbus had already declined by 2.36% the previous day in a context of Brent above $103. The stock thus extends its decline for another session, ranking 33rd in the CAC 40 and among the ten largest drops of the index, dominated by STMicroelectronics (4.12%) and Societe Generale (3.93%).
