Alstom Appoints Martin Sion as CEO in 2026
Alstom has announced the appointment of Martin Sion as the new CEO, effective April 2026.
Leadership Transition Announced
Alstom has stated that Martin Sion will be the next CEO of the group starting from April 1, 2026. This decision follows the recommendation of the company's Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Martin Sion will succeed Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who announced last May that he would not seek another term after having held the position since February 2016. The Board of Directors, led by Philippe Petitcolin, expressed their confidence in Martin Sion, emphasizing his experience to lead Alstom. In the meantime, Henri Poupart-Lafarge will continue to hold the position until the transition.
Smooth Transition Process Planned
The transition process between Henri Poupart-Lafarge and Martin Sion will take place over several months, culminating with Sion's commencement in April 2026. This period will allow for a smooth handover, according to statements made by the Chairman of the Board, Philippe Petitcolin. The Board has also decided on the remuneration elements for Martin Sion's future role, and this information is available on the company's website.
